SFPAL SF Vikings League
2012 SPRING SOCCER REGISTRATION DETAILS

If your team's original registration paperwork was submitted to Vikings for Fall 2011 play, then San Francisco Vikings Soccer League is your Home League.

Vikings League does not run a recreational spring season. The spring season is run by SFPAL (Police Activities League). However, as your league of registration, all roster changes are handled by Vikings League. This means that all scheduling questions should be directed to SFPAL and all roster issues should be directed to Vikings League.


To begin with, a clarification for your PAL documentation:

Teams need to follow PAL registration rules, which differ from Vikings.
Note that PAL will honor new CYSA guidelines for transfers (see Transferring Players section below).

All teams will need to attend a registration appointment with PAL.
Completed paperwork (for at least the PAL-required minimum number of players) must be complete before your PAL appointment.

What must you bring to your PAL Appointment?
Visit the PAL website at: http://www.sfpal.org/soccer/ for their requirements.

Major differences include:
- PAL requires at least 2 F-licensed coaches on the roster
- and any adult (coach, manager, etc.) on the roster must get a criminal background check

Does your team need to update its roster for the Spring season?

If so, Vikings teams make desired changes with the Vikings office in advance of their PAL appointment.

Remember, PAL charges a fee for every player listed on the updated roster. Therefore, you may want to remove any non-participating players from your roster (see below: Only removing players or adults).




Getting your paperwork processed
Paperwork for spring play is much simpler to process and can be done while you wait - and some processing can even be done electronically. (see below: If your team is...)

If your team is...

- Making No Changes from your fall roster - Transferring players from other 2011/12 Vikings teams
- Removing Players or Adults - Transferring players from non-Vikings 2011/12 teams
- Adding a New Coach or Team Manager - Combining teams
- Adding New Players




  • Making no changes from your fall roster

Cost: (FREE)
Action Deadline: Jan 10th, 2012

If your Fall roster requires no change, you must only notify Vikings by January 10th, 2012 that your team will not be updating your roster. Email sfviking@pacbell.net and don't forget to include your Team Name/TIN.

If your Fall roster is fine as is, you do not need to come into the Vikings office, just bring your Fall player passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL's other required paperwork.




  • Removing players or adults

Cost: (FREE)
Action Deadline: Jan 10th, 2012

By January 10th, let Vikings know via email at sfviking@pacbell.net which players and/or adults listed on your fall roster will NOT be participating.

No release form is necessary.
To release a player, coach/team manager should:

  1. Forward via email to sfviking@pacbell.net a note from the released player(s) parent confirming that the player will not play in spring. Email must include Team Name and TIN as well as player’s first and last legal name.

  2. Turn in the released player's Fall 2011 pass. This can be dropped off at or mailed to the Vikings office at 2521 Judah, San Francisco, CA 94122.

Vikings will send an updated Spring roster to PAL before your appointment. Take your current Fall player passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL's other required paperwork.




  • Adding a new coach (PAL requires 2 F-licensed coaches)

Cost: (FREE)
Action Deadline: Jan 17th, 2012

Starting January 17th, during Vikings office hours, one week before your PAL appointment, bring or email to Vikings:

  1. Legal name of additional Coach
  2. Six-digit confirmation number (CYSA team risk management disclosure unique number)
  3. Digital photo (no hat or sunglasses)
  4. Copy of Coach F License or proof that you are registered for the F License Clinic.

Take your Fall player & coach passes + the new coach pass to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL's other required paperwork. If the new coach is newly trained, it’s a good idea to provide a copy of your F license as it may not be reflected in the new pass.




  • Transferring players from other 2011/12 Vikings teams

Cost: $10/player ( with a max of $30/visit )
Action Deadline: Jan 17th, 2012

No transfer form is necessary!
No Signatures required!

(However, you may not take kids from a participating spring team if it makes that team fall below their team minimum.)

Starting January 17th, during office hours, one week before your PAL appointment, bring to Vikings for each transferring player:

  1. The Fall 2011 player pass from the old team
  2. The Fall original CYSA Membership form 1601 from the old team
  3. $10 for each player changing teams. (max of $30 if all changes brought in a single visit).

Please submit all roster change paperwork at one time during Vikings office hours Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 9-1:00 (first-come-first-served).

Vikings will modify the player passes while you wait (about 10-20 minutes). You do NOT need a new picture. You do not need to make multiple trips. Take your Fall player and coach passes + modified spring passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL's other required paperwork.

Please remember that players can only be registered on one team.




  • Transferring players from non-Vikings 2011/12 teams

Cost: $20/player
Action Deadline: Jan 17th, 2012

NOTES:

  • You may not take kids from a participating spring team if it makes that team fall below their team minimum.
  • Players must settle any financial obligations with their old team in advance of any transfer.
  • UH or Travel teams should always surrender their goldenrod (official team roster) with any roster changes. If you need your roster for credentials check (tournament) please communicate with Vikings via email at: sfviking@pacbell.net

Starting January 17th, during office hours, one week before your PAL appointment, bring to Vikings for each transferring player:

  1. The Fall 2011 player pass from the old team
  2. Fill out and print the first and third sections of Form #1606. arent and a registered Coach/Manager sign the form where indicated.
  3. The Fall original CYSA Membership form 1601 from the old team
  4. $20 for each player changing teams.

Please submit all roster change paperwork at one time during Vikings office hours Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 9-1:00 (first-come-first-served). Submit the signed #1606 form to your League along with a $20 fee, the player pass and original #1601 registration form that the coach should have.

Vikings will modify the player passes while you wait (about 10-20 minutes). You do NOT need a new picture. You do not need to make multiple trips. Take your Fall player and coach passes + modified spring passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL's other required paperwork.

Please remember that players can only be registered on one team.




 

  • Adding new players not already registered with any CYSA team for the 2011/12 season

Cost: $30/player
Action Deadline: Jan 17th, 2012

Starting January 10th, at least one week before your PAL appointment, bring to Vikings for each new player:

  1. Two signed CYSA Membership form 1601 (or the original and a copy)
  2. Copy of birth certificate or passport
  3. Passport size/quality photo - school photos work as well. You may bring or email this to us at sfviking@pacbell.net with your team name, TIN and child's full name.
  4. Check for $30 made out to SF Vikings League.

Please submit all roster change paperwork at one time during Vikings office hours Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 9-1:00 (first-come-first-served).

A brand new player pass will be created for this player while you wait (about 10-20 minutes). You do not need to make multiple trips. Take your Fall player and coach passes + modified spring passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL's other required paperwork.

Please remember that players can only be registered on one team.




  • Combining teams

Cost: $30/team
Action Deadlines: Jan 10th, 2012 and Jan 17th, 2012

In this case you do not need to worry about any transfer limit between the combining teams.

By January 10th, let Vikings know via email at sfviking@pacbell.net which teams are combining and what the combined team will be called --choices are from existing Fall team names being merged (be sure to include all Fall team names and TINs).

Starting January 17th, at least one week before your PAL appointment bring to Vikings:

  1. ALL Fall 2011 coach and player passes for both teams (ALL includes players and staff being dropped or transferred as well.)
  2. Original CYSA Membership form 1601 of all participating players on both teams.
  3. Cost $30 per team as long as paperwork is brought in all at one time. (Post-appointment submissions will be charged at $10/player change).

NOTES:

  • Forward via email to sfviking@pacbell.net a note from the released player(s) parent confirming that the player will not play in spring. Email must include Team Name and TIN as well as player’s first and last legal name.
  • You must turn in released staff and players' Fall 2011 pass(es).

Processing may take up to 30 minutes so we request that you either make an appointment or drop off paperwork for later pickup. To set an appointment, please email us and we’ll be glad to sort you out.

All of your current passes will be modified. No new pictures are needed.

Bring your modified spring passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL's other required paperwork.
