Spring 2010 Vikings Roster Change Instructions
(revised 01/06/10)

If you registered your team with Vikings in the fall, then Vikings League is your home league. Vikings League does not run a spring season. The spring season is run by PAL (Police Activities League).

This year PAL will run spring soccer via "paper team" registration. This means no transfer limits (within roster minimums/maximums) and less paperwork and fees for teams making roster changes through the Vikings League.

Please keep in mind that teams need to follow PAL registration rules. Make your registration appointments with PAL. Be sure to visit the PAL website at http://www.sfpal.org/soccer/ for their requirements. Major differences include: PAL requires at least 2 F-licensed coaches on the roster; and any adult (coach, manager, etc.) on the roster must get a criminal background check; etc.

Vikings teams need to update their roster with the Vikings League before registering with PAL for the spring. All paperwork must be complete before your appointment at PAL.

Getting your paperwork processed
Paperwork is much simpler to process this year and can be done while you wait. Please submit all roster change paperwork at one time during Vikings office hours Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 9-1:00 (first-come-first-served). If you do not want to wait for your paperwork to be processed, you can request an appointment via email at sfviking@pacbell.net. Please note that appointment times are limited. They can be found here.

If your team is:

Making no changes from your fall roster (FREE)
If you are making no changes, you don’t need to do anything at Vikings! Bring your Fall player passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL’s other required paperwork.
Remember, PAL charges a fee for every player listed on the Spring (blue) roster. Therefore, you may want to remove any non-participating players from your roster (see below).

Only removing players or adults (FREE)
By Jan 5, let Vikings know via email at sfviking@pacbell.net which players and/or adults listed on your fall roster will NOT be participating. Be sure to include your team name and TIN. No release form is necessary. Vikings will send an updated Spring (blue) roster to PAL by your appointment. Take your Fall player passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL’s other required paperwork.

Only adding a new coach (PAL requires 2 F-licensed coaches) (FREE)

1 week before your PAL appointment, bring to Vikings:

Two signed #1628 coach registration forms (or the original signed form and a copy)
A passport size/quality photo
Copy of Coach F License or proof that you are registered for the F License Clinic.

Take your Fall player & coach passes + the new coach pass to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL’s other required paperwork.

Adding players from other Vikings teams ($10/player with a max of $30/visit)

The Fall 2009/10 player pass from the old team
The Fall original 1601 player registration form from the old team
$10 for each player changing teams. (max of $30 if all changes brought in a single visit).

No transfer form is necessary! No Signatures! You do NOT need to worry about the 3-transfer limit. There is NO 8-day waiting period.

Vikings will modify the player passes while you wait (about 5-10 minutes). You do NOT need a new picture. You do not need to make multiple trips. Take your Fall player and coach passes + modified spring passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL’s other required paperwork.

Please remember that players can only be registered on one team.

Combining teams and/or choosing a new name (Yes, you do not need to worry about the 3-transfer limit)
By Jan 5, let Vikings know via email at sfviking@pacbell.net which teams are combining and/or what the new team will be called (be sure to include old team names and old TINs). The combining team option is strictly for combining 2 or more teams that would not otherwise have enough players to meet minimums, not for "rearranging" existing teams.
1 week before your PAL appointment bring to Vikings:

2009/10 coach and player passes and original #1601 registration forms of all participating players.
$30 per team as long as paperwork is brought in all at one time (otherwise it is $10/player to change teams and/or change team name).

Due to the length of processing, we request you either make an appointment or drop off paperwork for later pickup.
All of your passes will be modified. No new pictures are needed. Bring your modified spring passes to your PAL registration meeting along with PAL’s other required paperwork.

Adding new players not registered with any CYSA team for the 2009/10 season ($30)
1 week before your PAL appointment, bring to Vikings:

Two signed #1601 player registration forms (or the original and a copy)
Copy of birth certificate or passport
Passport size/quality photo
Check for $30 made out to SF Vikings League

A brand new player pass will be created for this player.

Here is a courtesy reminder of what to bring to your PAL Appointment:

Blue Roster – This will be sent to PAL by the Vikings League office once your Spring roster is finalized.
Player & Coach Passes – All Fall plus modified Spring passes for coaches and players participating.

Payment

For Coaches:
Two Coaches on the Roster – Each team must have two (2) F-licensed coaches on the official roster
F License – Each coach must have an F License. If the roster does not list that you have an F license you will need to bring a copy of your license with you.
Criminal Background Check – Each coach is required to pass a criminal background check. Call the PAL office for more information! Please note: Live‐scan results must be in the PAL office by the day of your appointment.
Coach/Volunteer Adult Information Form – Each adult must have one of these forms filled out and signed.
Enter coach’s information ONLINE. Must be completed 24 hours before your appointment with SFPAL.

For Players:
Waiver of Liability – Each player that is participating in the spring playing league must have one of these filled out and signed in both places.
Enter your player’s information ONLINE. Must be completed 24 hours before your appointment with SFPAL.
Payment

April 13 is the last day to add/transfer a player through Vikings, and still meet the April 16 PAL deadline.
