Player & Coach Movement

This page has important information and instructions for player & coach roster movement for the 2009 FALL season. For 2010 SPRING season roster change instructions please click here.

At no time may your roster exceed the maximum allowed or drop below the minimum for the team's age group.

Please note that for adds and transfers there is an eight day wait period from the time of approval (provided there is room on the team) before players are eligible to play. Please check with your home league of registration on how much lead time it takes to process paperwork. Vikings rec teams must allow one week except during August or when deadline cutoffs apply. Guest teams within District 1 generally require 2 weeks. Please contact your home league for specific deadlines. Vikings Soccer Club players (travel team players have additional requirements to be released or transfered: You must get approval from the Vikings Club Treasurer that your family has no outstanding fees before the League will sign off on any releases or transfers. Remember to include your child's name and team name in your email to him. We recommend you cc' the league in your request: sfviking@pacbell.net)

Travel teams and Vikings Upper House teams must allow 2 weeks for processing of paperwork (longer if transfer involves out of district signatures and processing). We will notify the primay team contact if paperwork is ready for pick up sooner than that time frame. Any team that has a goldenrod (official roster on goldenrod colored paper) must surrender the goldenrod with any player movement to the league of registration. You will receive a new roster reflecting the movement. If you have a tournament coming up, please contact the league registrar. Do not hand over your goldenrod to a parent as there are sensitive data on the roster.


Signatures
The parent of the player and registered team officials must sign releases and transfers. Please note, if a team official is leaving the team, he/she should recognize there is a coflict of interest and should have another team official sign off on any forms. That team official is to turn in his/her pass to the league office.

PLAYER ADDS

1. CYSA FORM #1601 original and a copy for each player signed in INK by a parent. Mother's day and month of birth needs to be provided on the form.

2. BIRTH CERTIFICATES/PASSPORTS - (copies only as they will not be returned) for every player. For players with two part birth certificates, we need both pages. 

3. ONE PHOTO - (TWO if Upper House or Club team). Passport size and quality photo (specs). Please make sure the TIN and last name is written on the back of photos.

4. CHECK - Payable to the SF Vikings Soccer League or to the Manager depending on their instructions. Fall team participants $70.00.
Travel team participants $27.00. Please write team name and TIN # and player last name in the memo field. Returned check fee of $25.00 applies.

5 . Spectator Code of Conduct (Spanish Version) for any player participating in fall with Vikings League.

6. U10-U13 Vikings Travel/Select teams are limited to 2 non-residents per team. Proof of resident status must be submitted for each Select/Travel and Upper House player via piece of correspondence mailed directly from the player's school to the players address.

7. In addition to submitting the above, players participating in recreational or Upper House soccer must also sign up online here.

COACH/ADULT ADDS
All Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers, Managers, and Team Assistants must register with the league by submitting form #1628. Those NOT planning on being on the sidelines during games do not need to submit items 2 and 3.

1. TWO CYSA FORMS #1628 "Team Official Risk Management Disclosure" . This link takes you to the CYSA site for an electronic submission. Fill out the disclosure form online, hit submit button then print 2 copies of the result form. Sign both copies of the form in ink. If you are coaching more than one team, please only submit electronically one time, but make an additional copy of the signed form #1628 for each team.

2. ONE PHOTO - (TWO if Upper House or Club Team) with your name, team name and TIN written on back. A passport size and quality photo (specs) is required for anyone planning on being on the sideline during games. No hat or sunglasses worn. If you are coaching more than one team, we need more than one photo. Coach passes are only valid for the team stated on the coaching pass.

3. COPY OF F LICENSE or above for anyone planning on being on the sideline during games. If you misplaced your license card, you may request a replacement from CYSA at http://cysanorth.org/coaching/dupe_license.PDF. Please allow 2 weeks for them to mail a new card to you.

PLAYER RELEASES

Submit to the Vikings League:

1. CYSA Form #1606 signed by parent* and coach in section #2. (Tip: print page #4 and follow these Vikings League instructions.) Orignal, 'wet' signatures are required.

2. PLAYER PASS (from coach)

3. ORIGINAL #1601 registration form (from coach)

*Parent must understand this means their child can not play Spring soccer or, soccer for the reminder of the soccer year, unless they first transfer back onto the team they left provided there is roster space and the team has not used up their maximum allowance of three transfers per soccer year. It is the responsibility of the coach or team manager to explain this to the parent. At no time may a team's roster exceed the maximum allowed or drop below the minimum for the team’s age group. This means that if a team is at its roster minimum, a player can not release from the team.

PLAYER TRANSFERS
The league will not accept any transfer forms if the form information is not completely filled out with the respective team names and team numbers and leagues of registration. Check with the coach or team manager, they have this information.

Submit to the Vikings League:

1. CYSA FORM #1606: Parent, Releasing Coach and Accepting Coach must sign in section #3 of the form before the Vikings office will accept it. (Tip: print page #4 and follow these Vikings League instructions.) Orignal, 'wet' signatures are required.

2. PLAYER PASS (Obtain from coach of original/releasing team)

3. ORIGINAL #1601 Registration form (Obtain from coach of original/releasing team)

4. PHOTO - One passport size and quality photo, no hat or sunglasses.

5. CHECK - payable to SF Vikings League for $20.00.

Within other District 1 leagues, or other Districts, please contact your home league for their procedures and how to coordinate with other leagues or districts.

A team shall be limited to accepting a total of three (3) transferred players per seasonal year. A transfer means the movement of a currently or previously rostered player onto another roster, or a player who returns to the same roster within the current seasonal year. The seasonal year begins September 1 and ends August 31.

At no time may a team's roster exceed the maximum allowed or drop below the minimum for the team’s age group. This means that if your team is at its roster minimum, a player can not transfer or release from your team. If your team is at its maximim, transfer paperwork can not be processed until a player is released or transfered off your team.

District 1 generally require two weeks for Guest teams. Please contact your home league for specific deadlines.
