New This Year For Registration 2008 (Updated 03/25/08. Subject to change. Please revisit.)

1. You will receive a new 2008 TIN (Team Identification Number) this year. Do not use last year’s TIN. After you register your team online, the primary contact will receive a new TIN via e-mail within 3 business days. This TIN (and your team name) should be used in all correspondence with the office.

2. There is another new CYSA Adult (Coach) Registration Form #1628 dated 12/07. It is now WHITE instead of PINK. Please dispose of any outdated Coach Registration Forms as they will not be accepted.

3. You will notice that this year we are requesting the birthday (month and day only) of all players' mothers. This is required by CYSA's new database system to generate ID numbers for players.

4. We strongly recommend that every team register two F licensed (or above) coaches. There are many benefits to this including the fact that if one coach is unable to attend the game, the other coach can take his/her place so the team won't have to forfeit the game. Remember that all coaches and assistant coaches need to be F licensed.

5. The official team roster (goldenrod) may need to be submitted with adds, releases and transfers.

6. When you attend the registration appointment, have in mind what your practice days, times, and fields will be.

7. The Early-Bird registration deadline is May 23. Teams that complete their registration after this date (up until the deadline of June 26) will have to pay an additional $300 fee.

Please Remember:

1. A parent/guardian must sign a 2008 Spectator Code of Conduct form. This form will be included with your packet of CYSA forms. You must indicate the child's name, mother's birthday (month and day only), team name, TIN on the form. You can also view/print it online.

2. All teams must have two contacts, one of which must be a parent on the team. The primary team contact plays an important role in communicating important information to/from coaches, families, and Vikings.

3. As passed at the 2007 AGM, an individual coach can only be registered as the head coach on a maximum of two (2) teams.

4. All U9-U14 teams must have a Volunteer Assistant Referee.

5. Policy for Team Priority and Waitlist
As in past years, we are concerned about having too many teams in certain age groups due to field limitations and will continue to implement our policy for determining priority and waitlist:

Priority will be set based on the date that you register your team online subject to the following:
By May 15, 2008, you must attend an appointment and submit completed paperwork for the minimum number of players on your team. There are a limited number of appointments available before May 15 so you need to phone to make your appointment as soon as possible (Phone calls to make appointments start on April 17 for returning Viking teams in good standing who attended the AGM and start on April 22 for all other teams). After May 15, priority will be first come first served. All guest teams will receive priority based on the date of their appointment.

6.
The League will no longer grant any new age waivers to players.* The only exception to this rule is for children who received age waivers through the Vikings League during the fall 2007 season, are on a U11 or younger team, and are playing on the same team as they played on in the fall 2006 season (a team will be considered the same if at least 75% of the players on the 2006 team are still on the team). These players must re-apply for the age waiver. Please click here for the 2007 age waiver list and instructions to apply for 2008.
*New Rules and Regulations Amendment Proposal #2 Passed at the 2007 AGM.

7. By 10am the day before their appointment, each team must complete the following online steps or the appointment will be cancelled. We will be strictly enforcing this:

8. Hold onto all paperwork through July 31, 2009 even if your team is not playing in the Spring!
